WANTED:
Obsolete British hand-stamping devices used to cancel stamps or place an instructional or explanatory postmark on mail.

Illustrated below (left) is a boxed type mileage mark handstamp PRESTEIGN/156 in use in the early years of the 19th century in Scotland. It is now in the Post Office Heritage collection of postal artefacts.

If you have any postmarking devices available for outright purchase (or exchange for GB QV stamps or covers), please forward details together with price required by any of the means detailed on the CONTACT US page.

Even if you do not wish to part with it, we would still be interested to hear about whatever you have, preferably with a picture of the item so that we can place its existence on record.
